Introduction
We are seeking a dynamic Senior Teaching Manager to lead the academic operations of our thriving language centre. This senior role reports directly to the Center Director and the Academic Operations Manager, and plays a pivotal part in maintaining high‑quality instruction, developing teaching talent, and ensuring seamless day‑to‑day classroom management. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in English language teaching, strong leadership capabilities, and a passion for fostering an engaging, student‑centred learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all academic functions of the centre, ensuring curriculum alignment with international standards.
- Recruit, evaluate, and onboard qualified teachers, conducting regular performance reviews and coaching sessions.
- Support teachers in lesson planning, material preparation, and assessment design, guaranteeing that each lesson is delivered with precision.
- Lead induction and ongoing professional development programmes, including workshops on pedagogy, technology integration, and classroom management.
- Finalize and publish the weekly teaching schedule, while arranging qualified substitute teachers for any unexpected absences.
- Teach assigned classes, modelling best practices and providing mentorship to junior staff.
- Address and resolve academic‑related complaints from students, parents, or staff promptly and diplomatically.
- Ensure accurate completion of attendance registers, lesson logs, homework records, and assessment scores for every class.
- Supervise the preparation of student progress reports, certificates, and placement test results.
- Conduct parent‑teacher conferences and placement assessments as needed.
- Coordinate with the marketing team on promotional events, open houses, and community outreach initiatives.
- Administer disciplinary procedures in accordance with centre policies, while fostering a supportive workplace culture.
- Analyse student performance data to identify trends, inform curriculum adjustments, and support strategic planning.
- Perform any additional administrative tasks that arise, ensuring smooth operation of the academic department.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Education, English, or a related field.
- TESOL/TEFL certification; TESOL/CELTA is a plus.
- IELTS speaking score of at least 7.5.
- At least 2–5 years of management experience, preferably within the service or education sector.
- Minimum 1 year of direct teaching experience, with a strong grasp of English language instruction.
- Excellent command of English—both spoken and written—and ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and maintain meticulous records.
- Strong people‑skills, team‑leadership, and conflict‑resolution abilities.
- Organised, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working in a cross‑cultural environment.
- Proven analytical skills with experience interpreting student performance data.
- Positive attitude, collaborative spirit, and genuine enthusiasm for teaching and community building.
