Introduction
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Cook Helper – Daily Worker to join our bustling kitchen team. This entry‑level position is ideal for individuals who have recently completed high school or vocational training and are eager to start a career in the food and beverage (F&B) industry. The successful candidate will support chefs and kitchen staff in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient cooking environment while learning essential culinary skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist chefs in basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment according to health‑code regulations.
- Receive, store, and rotate inventory items, ensuring proper labeling and first‑in‑first‑out (FIFO) practices.
- Support the plating and presentation of dishes under the supervision of senior cooks.
- Help set up and break down stations for each shift, including preparing cooking oils, spices, and garnishes.
- Monitor kitchen waste and assist in proper disposal or recycling procedures.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate order flow and address any service issues promptly.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including proper handling of hot surfaces, knives, and cleaning chemicals.
- Participate in routine deep‑cleaning tasks such as floor scrubbing, refrigeration cleaning, and exhaust hood maintenance.
- Provide occasional support for front‑of‑house activities, such as delivering orders to servers when needed.
Requirements
- Minimum education: High school diploma (SMA/SMK) or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of a kitchen environment and standard culinary terminology.
- Prior experience in F&B or hospitality is preferred but not mandatory; a strong willingness to learn is essential.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Demonstrated reliability, honesty, discipline, and a sense of responsibility.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast‑paced team.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights (up to 25 kg).
- Strong communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia; basic English is a plus.
