Melosa Coffee Lab is a boutique coffee shop dedicated to sourcing, curating, and roasting premium coffee beans in‑house. We are currently seeking a passionate Barista Specialist – Coffee Beverage Preparation to join our dynamic team in Jakarta. Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a wide variety of espresso‑based drinks, pour‑overs, cold brews, and specialty beverages in accordance with Melosa’s recipes and quality standards.
- Operate and maintain coffee equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and point‑of‑sale (POS) systems.
- Engage customers with friendly, knowledgeable service, offering recommendations and educating them about our coffee origins and roasting profiles.
- Handle cash transactions, process payments through the POS, and ensure accurate cash drawer reconciliation at the end of each shift.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment, including regular cleaning of equipment, workstations, and the service area.
- Monitor inventory levels of beans, milk, syrups, and consumables; communicate restocking needs to the manager.
- Assist in opening and closing procedures, such as setting up the brewing stations, calibrating grinders, and securing the premises.
- Participate in weekly training sessions to stay updated on new brewing methods, seasonal menu items, and customer service best practices.
- Contribute ideas for menu innovation, promotional events, and community engagement activities.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent, preferably with a focus on culinary arts or hospitality.
- Age between 20 and 24 years.
- All genders are welcome to apply.
- At least 1 year of professional experience as a barista in a specialty coffee environment.
- Proficient in operating espresso machines, grinders, and coffee brewing equipment.
- Ability to operate a cash register and handle POS transactions accurately.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; a genuine passion for the food & beverage (F&B) industry.
- Demonstrated reliability, honesty, discipline, and a sense of responsibility.
- Presentable appearance and a courteous demeanor toward customers and teammates.
- Residency in Jakarta or surrounding areas, with the flexibility to work six days a week on a rotating shift schedule (Tuesday – Sunday, 06:00 – 21:00).
