Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and schedule a team of junior chefs and kitchen assistants, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing work environment.
- Prepare, cook, and plate a diverse range of Arabic dishes, adhering to traditional recipes while incorporating modern presentation techniques.
- Develop and refine menu items, suggest seasonal variations, and collaborate with the Head Chef on new product launches.
- Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards in compliance with local regulations and five‑star hotel protocols.
- Control inventory, manage food costing, and coordinate with the purchasing department to ensure fresh, high‑quality ingredients are available.
- Monitor kitchen equipment, schedule routine maintenance, and troubleshoot any operational issues.
- Ensure timely service during peak hours, coordinating closely with front‑of‑house staff to meet guest expectations.
- Document daily production reports, track waste, and propose efficiency improvements.
- Participate in regular training sessions, both as a learner of advanced culinary techniques and as a trainer for junior staff.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent; preferably SMK Tata Boga (Culinary Arts).
- Age: 18‑28 years.
- Gender: Open to all genders (original posting preferred male, but we welcome diversity).
- At least 1 year of professional cooking experience, preferably in an Arabic or upscale restaurant setting.
- Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a cohesive team.
- Strong communication skills and a customer‑service mindset.
- High motivation, reliability, and a passion for culinary excellence.
- Familiarity with kitchen tools, inventory management, and basic administrative tasks.
- Desirable skills: quick adaptation, knowledge of raw material handling, and basic sales administration.
