Introduction
SPX Express is seeking a motivated and experienced Shift Lead for our Sortation Center (SOC) in Kota Dumai, Riau. This pivotal role oversees the daily flow of inbound, sortation, bagging, re‑processing, and outbound operations, ensuring that every package moves smoothly through the facility. The successful candidate will be a hands‑on leader who can balance operational efficiency with strong team engagement, while upholding SPX Express’s commitment to reliability and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and control the day‑to‑day activities of the Sortation Center, including inbound receiving, automated sortation, bagging, re‑processing, and outbound dispatch.
- Ensure all processes are executed in strict accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
- Develop and adjust manpower plans in response to fluctuating daily volumes, guaranteeing optimal staffing levels for peak and off‑peak periods.
- Track key performance indicators such as productivity rates, equipment utilization, and order‑processing accuracy, and implement corrective actions when targets are not met.
- Conduct daily briefings with the team to review performance metrics, communicate operational updates, and reinforce the 5S methodology (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
- Collaborate with maintenance and quality assurance teams to minimize equipment downtime and resolve process bottlenecks.
- Maintain accurate logs and reports for shift activities, incident tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Foster a culture of open communication, safety awareness, and continuous learning among all shift personnel.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK, Diploma, or a Bachelor’s degree in any field.
- 2–3 years of logistics experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or warehouse‑lead role.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and basic English is a plus.
- Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and basic data‑analysis tools.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends (Monday‑Saturday schedule, 09:30‑18:30).
- Willingness to be based permanently in Kota Dumai, Riau.
- Core soft skills: problem‑solving, decision‑making under pressure, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
