Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated Guru Bahasa Inggris Paruh Waktu (Part‑time English Teacher) to join our vibrant language centre. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality English instruction to learners of various ages and proficiency levels, both in‑person and online. Reporting directly to the Center Director and the Director of Studies, you will play a key role in maintaining our reputation for academic excellence and fostering a supportive learning environment.
This position offers a flexible schedule of up to 30 working hours per week, with the possibility of split shifts to accommodate both morning and evening classes. You will be expected to engage with students, parents, and fellow staff members professionally and collaboratively, while adhering to the centre’s curriculum standards and administrative procedures.
Responsibilities
- Deliver up to 40 academic hours (approximately 24 real teaching hours) per week, following the timetable assigned by the Director of Studies.
- Prepare detailed lesson plans and gather all necessary teaching materials before each class.
- Utilise the centre’s approved course materials, supplementing them where appropriate to address individual student needs.
- Maintain punctuality by starting and ending classes on time and ensuring a smooth transition between lessons.
- Administer tests, quizzes, and assessments in line with centre procedures, and record student performance accurately.
- Produce regular student progress reports and issue certificates upon course completion.
- Conduct placement testing and interview prospective students to determine appropriate class levels.
- Lead demonstration lessons, conversation clubs, and other extracurricular language activities.
- Keep classroom equipment and learning resources in excellent condition.
- Assist with administrative tasks, project work, and event organization as directed by the Director of Studies.
- Participate actively in the centre’s marketing initiatives, open houses, and community outreach programs.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree (S1) from a recognised university.
- At least one year of proven experience teaching English, either offline or online.
- Strong command of English, both spoken and written; TOEFL ≥ 550 or IELTS ≥ 6.5 is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to commit to a minimum one‑year contract under a part‑time arrangement (30 working hours per week).
- Flexibility to work split shifts and adapt to both on‑site and off‑site teaching locations.
- Proficiency in using digital teaching platforms and classroom technology.
- Organised, detail‑oriented, and capable of managing student records and administrative documentation.
