Introduction
We are seeking a dynamic and results‑driven Area Sales Manager – Malang to join our fast‑growing FMCG (Fast‑Moving Consumer Goods) team. This role is pivotal in driving market penetration, gathering competitive intelligence, and ensuring that sales targets are consistently achieved across the assigned territory. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in sales, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to travel frequently throughout the region.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough market research to collect and analyse information on competitor products, pricing, promotions, and distribution strategies.
- Assess the relative strength of our product portfolio in the market and identify opportunities for differentiation.
- Develop and execute expansion plans to open new sales channels, increase shelf coverage, and grow brand visibility in the Malang area.
- Own the achievement of monthly and quarterly sales targets set by senior management, reporting progress and forecasting results.
- Coordinate and follow up on invoice issuance and collection, ensuring timely payment from distributors and retailers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, distributors, and retail partners, acting as the primary point of contact for negotiations and issue resolution.
- Prepare regular field reports, including competitor analysis, sales performance, and market trends, to support strategic decision‑making.
- Lead and mentor junior sales representatives, providing coaching on product knowledge, sales techniques, and time management.
- Travel weekly or monthly for on‑site visits, product demonstrations, and promotional events, ensuring consistent brand presence.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent.
- Age limit: up to 35 years old.
- At least 1 year of experience in FMCG sales or a related field (fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply).
- Strong analytical skills for market and competitor assessment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and time‑management abilities.
- Highly organized, honest, and accountable with a professional appearance.
- Valid Indonesian driver’s license (SIM C) and personal motorcycle for field mobility.
- Willingness to be placed in any designated area within the Malang region and to travel regularly for business.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams.
