Introduction
We are seeking a motivated Operator Utilitas – Pengelolaan Sistem Energi dan Air to join our dynamic utility team at a leading petrochemical complex in Gresik, Indonesia. This full‑time position operates on a Monday‑Saturday schedule (08:00 – 17:00) with rotating shift coverage as needed. The role offers a unique opportunity to work in a high‑tech environment, ensuring the reliable delivery of energy and water services that are critical to plant operations.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, control, and optimize the plant’s steam, electricity, and water distribution systems to meet production demands.
- Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and calibrations of pumps, compressors, valves, and related instrumentation.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot abnormal conditions or equipment failures, coordinating with engineering and maintenance teams for rapid resolution.
- Maintain accurate logs, shift reports, and compliance documentation in accordance with ISO, OHSAS, and local regulatory standards.
- Assist in the implementation of energy‑efficiency initiatives, including data collection for KPI tracking and cost‑saving analysis.
- Participate in emergency response drills, ensuring safe shutdown and restart procedures for utility systems.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional departments—process, safety, and environmental—to support continuous improvement projects.
- Provide on‑site support for audits and third‑party inspections, presenting operational data and corrective action plans.
- Mentor junior operators and share best practices related to utility management and safety protocols.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory changes that impact utility operations.
Requirements
- Minimum education: D3/D4 (Associate or Bachelor) from a reputable university, preferably majoring in Chemical Engineering.
- GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- 0–2 years of hands‑on experience working in utility operations within a petrochemical or similar heavy‑industry plant.
- Strong command of English, both spoken and written, for technical documentation and communication.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, to ensure 24‑hour utility coverage.
- Willingness to be stationed in Gresik for the duration of employment.
- Excellent communication skills, problem‑solving aptitude, and a proactive safety mindset.
