Responsibilities
- Perform precise installation, removal, and replacement of passenger‑car and light‑truck tires, ensuring correct torque and seat‑ring specifications.
- Execute tire‑related services such as wheel alignment (spooring), dynamic and static balancing, puncture repair, tire rotation, and routine inspections.
- Conduct pre‑ and post‑service checks on all workshop equipment, including tire changers, balancers, and alignment machines, and report any maintenance needs to the supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free work area in accordance with occupational safety standards.
- Deliver courteous and knowledgeable assistance to customers, explaining service procedures, recommended tire wear patterns, and safety tips.
- Assist with inventory management by tracking tire stock levels, ordering supplies, and ensuring proper storage conditions.
- Support outlet operations during peak periods, including opening/closing duties, cash handling for service invoices, and collaboration with sales staff.
- Participate in regular technical training sessions to stay up‑to‑date with new tire technologies, pressure monitoring systems, and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent; a diploma in Automotive Technology or a related field is highly preferred.
- At least 1 year of practical experience as an automotive tire mechanic; recent graduates with relevant internship experience will also be considered.
- Strong understanding of vehicle chassis, suspension components, and the fundamentals of tire dynamics.
- Proficiency in using tire mounting machines, balancers, alignment tools, and basic hand tools.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Demonstrated reliability, honesty, and a disciplined work ethic.
- Ability to work efficiently under time pressure while maintaining high safety standards.
- Team‑oriented mindset with the flexibility to assist in other workshop areas when required.
