Introduction
We are seeking a dynamic and detail‑oriented Merchandiser – Area Display to join our retail operations in Singkawang. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our product displays are visually appealing, strategically positioned, and aligned with brand guidelines to drive sales growth. This role requires a blend of analytical thinking, creativity, and strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with store teams, suppliers, and regional managers.
Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and maintain product displays across assigned retail outlets, ensuring optimal shelf placement and visual standards.
- Conduct regular store visits to audit compliance with merchandising guidelines, taking photographic evidence and reporting any discrepancies.
- Analyze sales data and foot traffic patterns to adjust display strategies that maximize product visibility and turnover.
- Coordinate with the sales and marketing teams to launch promotional campaigns, seasonal themes, and new product introductions.
- Train and coach store staff on effective merchandising techniques, product knowledge, and inventory handling.
- Manage inventory levels of display materials, ensuring timely replenishment and cost‑effective usage of resources.
- Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports, highlighting key metrics such as sell‑through rates, stock‑outs, and promotional ROI.
- Collaborate with logistics and supply chain partners to schedule deliveries of fixtures, signage, and promotional assets.
- Work under tight deadlines during peak periods, maintaining composure and delivering high‑quality results.
- Identify emerging market trends and consumer preferences to recommend innovative display concepts.
Requirements
- Minimum education: D3/D4 (Associate or Bachelor degree) in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of hands‑on experience in merchandising, visual display, or sales promotion, preferably within the consumer‑goods or retail sector.
- Strong communication skills – able to convey ideas clearly to both internal teams and external partners.
- High level of integrity, honesty, and accountability in all work activities.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Resilience under pressure; capable of meeting tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with merchandising software or ERP systems.
- Flexibility to travel within the Singkawang region and work Monday through Saturday (08:00 – 17:00).
