Responsibilities
- Operate hydraulic excavators safely and efficiently to perform earth‑moving, trenching, and material handling tasks in forest and construction projects.
- Interpret site plans, blueprints, and work orders to ensure excavation work meets dimensional and positional specifications.
- Conduct pre‑operation equipment inspections, report any defects, and perform routine maintenance such as lubrication, filter changes, and minor repairs.
- Coordinate with site supervisors, engineers, and other heavy‑equipment operators to synchronize workflow and avoid conflicts on the job site.
- Adhere strictly to all occupational safety and health regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and implementation of site‑specific safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate daily logs of machine hours, fuel consumption, and work completed; submit reports to the project manager at the end of each shift.
- Assist in the set‑up and removal of temporary access roads, drainage systems, and support structures required for excavation activities.
- Participate in regular safety briefings, toolbox talks, and continuous‑improvement initiatives aimed at reducing downtime and enhancing productivity.
Requirements
- Male candidates only, in accordance with the specific project labor agreement.
- Minimum education: High School Diploma (SMA) or equivalent vocational training (SMK) in mechanical or construction-related fields.
- At least 1–2 years of proven experience operating excavators on forest‑area or contractor sites.
- Valid SIO (Operator Safety Certification) or equivalent excavator operator certification; possession of this credential is considered a strong advantage.
- Strong discipline, reliability, and the ability to follow detailed instructions without supervision.
- Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written, to interact effectively with supervisors, peers, and external stakeholders.
- Physical fitness to endure long hours of seated operation and occasional manual tasks such as steering, signaling, and equipment checks.
- Flexibility to work Monday through Saturday, from 08:00 to 17:00, with occasional overtime during peak project phases.
