This role is essential in ensuring that every part leaving the shop floor meets stringent technical specifications while supporting continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor manual CNC and conventional turning (bubut) and milling machines to produce components according to engineering drawings.
- Operate grinding machines for finishing operations, ensuring surface roughness and dimensional tolerances are achieved.
- Interpret and apply technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to verify part geometry.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM) to conduct in‑process and final inspections.
- Record production data, machine settings, and inspection results in the plant’s ERP system.
- Identify non‑conformities, report deviations, and collaborate with quality control to implement corrective actions.
- Participate actively in Kaizen workshops, suggesting and executing process‑optimisation ideas that reduce cycle time, waste, and re‑work.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.
- Assist senior engineers during tool changes, fixture design, and trial runs for new product introductions.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior operators, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and teamwork.
Requirements
- Minimum education: D3/D4 in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of hands‑on experience operating turning, milling, and grinding machinery; fresh graduates with relevant internships are also encouraged to apply.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering schematics.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools and an understanding of calibration procedures.
- Practical experience with manual CNC machines, including set‑up of tool offsets and feed‑rate adjustments.
- Demonstrated commitment to Kaizen or other continuous‑improvement methodologies.
- Effective communication skills, both spoken and written, to coordinate with cross‑functional teams.
- Ability to work six days a week (Monday‑Saturday) from 08:00 to 17:00, adhering to shift and overtime requirements when needed.
