Introduction
The Quality Control – Malang S. Parman position is a critical role within our fast‑growing food & beverage operation in Malang. As a member of the quality assurance team, you will be responsible for safeguarding the consistency, safety, and visual appeal of all products that leave our kitchen and vendor‑partner restaurants. This full‑time role operates on a shift basis, offering a dynamic work environment where meticulous attention to detail and strong communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in food preparation, stock management, and quality inspection, and will thrive in a collaborative, fast‑paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily visual and sensory inspections of finished dishes and raw ingredients to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Perform systematic stock‑opname procedures, reconciling physical inventory with system records and flagging any discrepancies.
- Coordinate with kitchen crews, production staff, and external vendors to resolve quality‑related issues promptly and professionally.
- Document inspection results, generate detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence of defects.
- Oversee the reheating and holding processes, verifying that temperature controls meet safety guidelines.
- Assist in the development and periodic revision of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for product preparation, handling, and storage.
- Participate in internal audits and support third‑party certification bodies during external inspections.
- Provide on‑the‑job training to new staff on quality standards, proper food handling, and the use of testing equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and color‑neutral workstation to avoid any visual bias in product assessment.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging food safety regulations, and best practices in quality control within the hospitality sector.
Requirements
- Maximum age: 30 years.
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent; D3 in any field is also accepted.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in food & beverage operations, preferably in a crew, production, kitchen, or quality control capacity.
- Strong understanding of product preparation cycles, including cooking, reheating, stock‑taking, and final presentation.
- Food testing certification (e.g., HACCP, ServSafe) is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to convey quality expectations clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Active, detail‑oriented, and not color‑blind, ensuring accurate visual assessments.
- Good health with no chronic illnesses that could affect performance.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for inventory tracking and report generation.
