Introduction
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Setup Website and Configuration Specialist to join our fast‑growing e‑commerce team. In this role you will be responsible for building and launching Shopify stores that reflect the unique brand identity of our clients, with a particular focus on the ASSA brand portfolio. This is a freelance, project‑based position offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while collaborating closely with our design, marketing, and product teams.
Responsibilities
- Build and configure a new Shopify store from the ground up, including theme selection, layout design, and creation of essential pages such as home, product, collection, and contact pages.
- Customize the user interface to align with ASSA’s brand guidelines, ensuring consistent typography, color palettes, and visual elements across the site.
- Integrate advanced features such as discount coupons, landing pages, dynamic product pages, and third‑party apps for reviews, email capture, and analytics.
- Perform thorough quality assurance testing, including cross‑browser compatibility, mobile responsiveness, and checkout flow verification.
- Prepare comprehensive handover documentation, covering store settings, app configurations, and step‑by‑step operational guides for the client’s internal team.
- Collaborate with designers and marketers to implement SEO best practices, meta tags, and structured data to improve organic visibility.
- Provide post‑launch support for a defined period, addressing bugs, updating content, and training the client on routine store maintenance.
- Maintain an up‑to‑date portfolio of Shopify projects, showcasing successful launches and measurable results such as conversion rate improvements.
Requirements
- Minimum education: D3/D4 (Associate degree) in Information Technology, Web Design, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of hands‑on experience building and customizing Shopify stores, with a demonstrable portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in Shopify Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, and basic JavaScript for front‑end customizations.
- Strong understanding of e‑commerce best practices, payment gateways, shipping integrations, and inventory management.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Self‑discipline and time‑management skills required for freelance, project‑based work, including meeting tight deadlines.
- Problem‑solving mindset, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering polished, user‑friendly online experiences.
