Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated Mekanik Penempatan Hino to join our growing team in Balikpapan, specifically near the KM 25 area. This full‑time position supports our fleet of Hino trucks, ensuring that each vehicle operates safely and efficiently in a demanding logistics environment. The successful candidate will work Monday through Saturday, from 08:30 to 17:00, and will be an integral part of our maintenance department, reporting directly to the Service Manager.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Hino trucks, including engine, transmission, braking, and electrical systems.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using both manual inspection techniques and diagnostic tools, documenting findings clearly.
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicle components such as fuel systems, suspension, and drivetrain parts.
- Conduct routine oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain an organized workshop, ensuring all tools, spare parts, and safety equipment are properly stored and readily accessible.
- Collaborate with the logistics team to schedule vehicle downtimes, minimizing impact on delivery schedules.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior mechanics and apprentices.
- Complete detailed maintenance reports and update the fleet management system with service records.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, wearing appropriate PPE and promoting a culture of zero‑incident work practices.
- Continuously stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and Hino-specific service bulletins.
Requirements
- Male applicant, maximum age 35 years.
- Minimum education: SMK (Vocational High School) with a concentration in Automotive Engineering or a related field.
- At least 1 year of hands‑on experience working on heavy‑duty trucks, preferably Hino models.
- Solid understanding of basic automotive concepts, engine mechanics, and vehicle diagnostics.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with team members and supervisors.
- High level of motivation, honesty, attention to detail, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, adapting to shifting priorities.
- Residence in or around Balikpapan, preferably within the KM 25 vicinity.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as required.
