Introduction

Mie Gacoan, a fast‑growing Indonesian noodle brand renowned for its innovative flavors and high‑quality standards, is expanding its footprint in Malang. We are seeking a motivated Quality Control Specialist to join our new store located at S. Paraman. This role is pivotal in ensuring that every bowl of Mie Gacoan served to our customers meets the strict visual, taste, and safety criteria that define our brand. The successful candidate will work closely with kitchen staff, vendors, and store management to monitor product quality, manage inventory, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily visual inspections of incoming raw materials and finished products to verify compliance with company quality standards.
  • Perform systematic stock‑opname (inventory counts) of ingredients, packaging, and finished goods, documenting discrepancies and initiating corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with vendors to resolve quality issues, ensuring that all supplied items meet Mie Gacoan’s specifications before acceptance.
  • Monitor cooking, reheating, and final presentation processes, providing real‑time feedback to kitchen crew to maintain consistency.
  • Maintain accurate records of quality checks, test results, and corrective actions in accordance with SOPs and food safety regulations.
  • Facilitate clear communication between the kitchen, front‑of‑house, and management teams to address any quality concerns promptly.
  • Participate in a comprehensive 3‑6‑month training program covering product preparation, hygiene standards, and operational procedures.
  • Support the launch of the new store by assisting in the setup of quality control stations and training new staff on best practices.
  • Adhere to shift schedules, working flexible hours including weekends and holidays as required.

Requirements

  • Maximum age of 30 years; height requirements: minimum 160 cm for men and 155 cm for women.
  • Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent; D3 graduates from any field are also welcome.
  • At least 1 year of experience in food & beverage operations, preferably in a crew, production, kitchen, or quality control role.
  • Strong understanding of product preparation cycles, stock management, cooking, reheating, and final product presentation.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to convey quality expectations clearly to diverse teams.
  • Good color vision (no color‑blindness) to accurately assess food appearance.
  • Physically fit with no history of chronic illness that could affect job performance.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Commitment to complete the mandatory training program and to be stationed at the new Mie Gacoan Malang location.
  • Key skills: food quality control, food analysis, raw material stock monitoring, inventory supervision, and problem‑solving.
