Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for fabrics, trims, and ancillary materials used in garment production.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers across Asia, with a particular focus on Mandarin‑speaking markets, ensuring compliance with quality, cost, and delivery standards.
- Lead complex negotiations, leveraging market intelligence to secure favorable pricing, payment terms, and long‑term contracts.
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs such as on‑time delivery, defect rates, and sustainability compliance, and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Collaborate with product development and production planning to forecast material requirements and minimize inventory excess.
- Conduct regular cost‑benefit analyses, price benchmarking, and risk assessments to identify alternative sourcing opportunities.
- Prepare detailed procurement reports and present insights to senior management for strategic decision‑making.
- Maintain accurate records of contracts, purchase orders, and supplier communications while safeguarding confidential company information.
- Support sustainability initiatives by sourcing eco‑friendly materials and ensuring suppliers meet environmental standards.
- Mentor junior procurement staff, sharing best practices in negotiation, supplier relationship management, and market analysis.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of progressive procurement experience, preferably within the garment, textile, or broader manufacturing industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in raw‑material procurement, garment accessories, and production‑related supplies.
- Fluent spoken Mandarin is mandatory; strong English proficiency is a significant plus.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing cost‑effective contracts and building long‑term supplier partnerships.
