Introduction
We are seeking a motivated and customer‑focused Cashier to join our Retail Store Operations team. Responsibilities
- Operate the point‑of‑sale (POS) system to scan items, process cash, credit, and mobile payments, and issue receipts.
- Verify the accuracy of pricing, discounts, and promotional offers, and resolve any discrepancies in real time.
- Provide courteous, knowledgeable assistance to customers, answering product questions and directing them to appropriate store sections.
- Maintain a clean, organized checkout area, ensuring that cash drawers, credit card terminals, and bagging stations are stocked and functional.
- Reconcile cash drawers at the beginning and end of each shift, documenting any variances according to company policy.
- Assist with inventory control by reporting low‑stock items, damaged merchandise, and potential theft incidents.
- Collaborate with floor staff and managers to execute daily promotions, special events, and seasonal sales initiatives.
- Follow all health, safety, and security procedures, including proper handling of cash and adherence to loss‑prevention protocols.
- Participate in regular training sessions to stay current on new POS features, product lines, and customer service best practices.
Requirements
- Minimum education: High School Diploma (SMA/SMK) or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of proven experience in a cashier or retail sales role.
- Strong numerical ability and comfort handling cash, credit, and electronic payment methods.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage customers of all backgrounds.
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and a willingness to work a Monday‑Saturday schedule (08:00‑17:00).
- Proficiency with standard POS software and basic computer literacy.
- Team‑player mindset with a proactive attitude toward problem‑solving and continuous improvement.
- Flexibility to adapt to fast‑moving retail environments and occasional peak‑season demands.
