Introduction
We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Chef (Asisten Koki) to join our dynamic restaurant team. Responsibilities
- Assist the head chef in preparing ingredients, measuring portions, and assembling menu items according to standardized recipes.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene protocols, including proper storage, labeling, and sanitation of all kitchen equipment.
- Support the kitchen crew during peak service hours by executing prep work, cooking basic components, and restocking stations promptly.
- Monitor inventory levels, report shortages, and help with receiving and organizing deliveries to minimize waste.
- Collaborate closely with fellow cooks and service staff to ensure seamless communication and timely order fulfillment.
- Participate in daily cleaning schedules, including floor sweeping, surface wiping, and deep cleaning of cooking appliances.
- Assist in menu development by suggesting ingredient substitutions, flavor enhancements, and plating ideas under the chef’s guidance.
- Handle basic equipment maintenance, such as sharpening knives and checking the functionality of grills, ovens, and fryers.
- Provide excellent customer service support when needed, including answering brief inquiries about dishes and dietary restrictions.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent; a diploma in Culinary Arts (Tata Boga) is preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience as a cook helper, kitchen crew member, or similar role; fresh graduates with strong culinary fundamentals are welcome to apply.
- Solid understanding of basic food preparation techniques, seasoning control, and kitchen hygiene standards.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy pots, and work efficiently in a hot, fast‑moving environment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and work harmoniously within a team.
- Strong sense of discipline, honesty, and responsibility, with a commitment to punctuality and reliability.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, local hygiene codes) is a valuable plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including customer service orientation and the ability to interact politely with guests when required.
