Introduction
We are seeking a motivated Assistant Produce Coordinator to join our dynamic fresh‑produce team. This role is essential for ensuring that our fruit and vegetable sections operate smoothly, meet the highest standards of quality, and provide an excellent shopping experience for our customers. Responsibilities
- Organize, arrange, and inspect the quality of all incoming and existing fruit and vegetable inventory.
- Monitor stock levels daily, conduct regular inventory counts, and promptly replace any items that are damaged, past prime, or unfit for sale.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary work area by adhering to food‑safety protocols and conducting routine cleaning of display racks, storage bins, and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with local food‑safety regulations, including proper temperature control, labeling, and traceability of produce.
- Assist customers by offering product knowledge, recommending selections, and providing friendly, courteous service.
- Coordinate with suppliers and the purchasing department to schedule deliveries, resolve discrepancies, and communicate quality concerns.
- Support the senior produce manager in preparing promotional displays, seasonal arrangements, and visual merchandising plans.
- Participate in weekly team meetings, contribute ideas for improving efficiency, and help train new staff on handling and safety procedures.
- Adapt to flexible shift schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, to ensure continuous coverage of the produce department.
Requirements
- Minimum education: High School Diploma (SMA/SMK) or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of hands‑on experience in a fruit and vegetable environment, such as a supermarket, wholesale market, or farm‑to‑table outlet.
- Physical stamina to lift, carry, and arrange produce boxes weighing up to 25 kg and to stand for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and team members.
- Good knowledge of food safety standards, including HACCP principles, proper storage temperatures, and sanitation practices.
- High level of integrity, honesty, and reliability; demonstrated responsibility in handling cash or inventory records.
- Excellent attention to detail; capable of identifying bruises, spoilage, or contamination quickly.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts and to start immediately.
