Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated Cook Helper – Kitchen Support Assistant to join our dynamic culinary team. Responsibilities
- Assist the head cook in preparing dishes according to standardized recipes, ensuring flavor consistency and portion accuracy.
- Maintain the highest standards of kitchen cleanliness, including regular sanitization of work surfaces, equipment, and storage areas.
- Organize and prep all necessary ingredients—vegetables, proteins, sauces, and garnishes—following the day’s mise en place schedule.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inventory checks, recording stock levels and reporting discrepancies to the kitchen manager.
- Support periodic stock‑taking (stock opname) activities, helping to verify quantities and ensure proper rotation of perishable items.
- Plate and present meals with visual appeal, adhering to the restaurant’s aesthetic guidelines for garnish and arrangement.
- Collaborate with fellow kitchen staff during opening, middle, and closing shifts, adapting to a rotating schedule that may include overtime during peak periods.
- Observe and apply food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper storage temperatures, cross‑contamination prevention, and personal sanitation.
- Assist in receiving deliveries, checking quality, and storing items in designated locations.
- Contribute ideas for menu enhancements, seasonal specials, and process improvements, showcasing creativity and a proactive mindset.
Requirements
- Minimum education: High School Diploma (SMA/SMK) or equivalent.
- Age: 18‑26 years old.
- Gender: Female (as specified by the employer).
- At least 6 months of experience in a kitchen setting, preferably as a cook or kitchen assistant.
- Strong commitment to punctuality, reliability, and a positive attitude.
- Good knowledge of hygienic food handling and presentation standards.
- Ability to work flexible shifts (opening, middle, closing) and willingness to work overtime when required.
- Excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Attention to detail, creativity, and the capacity to multitask in a high‑pressure environment.
- Personal traits: honest, agile, disciplined, and customer‑service oriented.
- Preferred: prior experience in the Food & Beverage (F&B) industry and familiarity with traditional Indonesian cuisine.
