Introduction
We are seeking a highly qualified Senior Chief of Technical Operations to lead the engineering department of a prestigious five‑star hotel. This pivotal role combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership, ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems operate flawlessly 24/7. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and guest satisfaction while managing a dedicated team of engineers and external vendors.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the full spectrum of MEP systems, including HVAC, power distribution, water supply, fire protection, and building automation.
- Develop, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance programs that reduce downtime and extend asset life.
- Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team, schedule work shifts, conduct performance reviews, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with hotel management to align technical operations with guest service goals and seasonal occupancy fluctuations.
- Manage large‑scale renovation and retrofit projects, ensuring compliance with local regulations, hotel brand standards, and sustainability targets.
- Control operating budgets, negotiate contracts with vendors, and track cost‑saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety.
- Conduct root‑cause analyses for equipment failures, implement corrective actions, and document lessons learned.
- Ensure strict adherence to Occupational Safety and Health (K3) standards, conducting regular audits and safety drills.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for emergency response, overseeing rapid resolution of critical incidents.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, equipment warranties, and regulatory certifications.
Requirements
- Minimum education: D3/D4 or S1 in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.
- Proven experience (5+ years) as Chief Engineer or Engineering Manager in a star‑rated hotel environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of MEP systems, building maintenance best practices, and modern hotel technology platforms.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, with strong team‑building, coaching, and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Excellent problem‑solving aptitude, capable of making quick decisions under pressure.
- Solid understanding of K3 safety regulations and the ability to enforce them consistently.
- Proficiency in budget management, cost control, and performance reporting.
- Experience negotiating and managing vendor contracts, including service level agreements and project delivery timelines.
- Professional appearance, strong communication skills, and a commitment to punctuality and reliability.
- Flexibility to work Monday through Saturday, 08:00‑17:00, with occasional on‑call duties for emergencies.
