Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and deliver engaging lesson plans for SMK‑level automotive engineering courses, covering subjects such as engine diagnostics, chassis dynamics, fuel systems, and emerging electric vehicle technologies.
- Conduct laboratory and workshop sessions, ensuring all safety protocols are strictly followed while students perform real‑world repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Develop and update curriculum materials in alignment with national vocational standards and industry trends, integrating digital simulation tools where appropriate.
- Assess student performance through quizzes, practical exams, project evaluations, and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Mentor students on career pathways, including apprenticeship opportunities, certifications, and further education options.
- Collaborate with fellow faculty members to coordinate interdisciplinary projects, such as integrating electrical engineering concepts into automotive coursework.
- Participate in school meetings, professional development workshops, and community outreach programs that promote STEM education.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and equipment inventories, and report any issues to the school administration promptly.
- Uphold the institution’s policies, values, and code of conduct, serving as a role model for professionalism and ethical behavior.
Requirements
- Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree (S1) or Diploma (D4) in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a closely related field.
- Strong foundational knowledge in automotive mechanics, preferably with exposure to both internal combustion and electric vehicle systems.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learning styles and varying skill levels of SMK students.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling clear explanation of complex technical concepts.
- Demonstrated teamwork capability as well as the initiative to work independently when required.
- Commitment to following school policies, maintaining a safe learning environment, and fostering a culture of respect and inclusivity.
- Basic proficiency with educational technology tools, such as learning management systems, virtual simulation software, and digital assessment platforms.
- Flexibility to work Monday through Saturday, 08:00‑17:00, with occasional after‑hours events or workshops.
