Introduction
We are looking for a motivated Helper Cook to join our dynamic Kitchen Operations Team. This entry‑level position is ideal for recent graduates or individuals eager to start a culinary career in a fast‑paced, multicultural kitchen environment. The successful candidate will support senior chefs, maintain a clean workspace, and help prepare a variety of Asian dishes, including Japanese and Chinese specialties. Responsibilities
- Assist senior chefs in preparing ingredients for Japanese and Chinese menu items, such as sushi rice, tempura batter, stir‑fried noodles, and dumpling fillings.
- Follow standardized recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency and quality across all dishes.
- Maintain a spotless work station by cleaning surfaces, utensils, and equipment before, during, and after service.
- Monitor inventory levels of basic pantry items and notify supervisors when supplies need replenishment.
- Support the mise en place process by chopping vegetables, portioning sauces, and arranging garnish trays.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper storage temperatures and cross‑contamination prevention.
- Assist with plating and garnishing under the guidance of senior kitchen staff, ensuring an attractive presentation.
- Participate in daily kitchen briefings, taking notes on special menu items, dietary restrictions, and operational changes.
- Demonstrate initiative by suggesting workflow improvements and volunteering for additional tasks during peak periods.
- Adapt quickly to different kitchen layouts and team structures, as the role may involve relocation to various restaurant sites.
Requirements
- Minimum education: High School Diploma (SMA) or Vocational School (SMK) equivalent.
- Male candidates (as specified by the client).
- Fresh graduates are welcome; any prior kitchen experience is considered a plus.
- Demonstrated traits of honesty, neatness, initiative, and agility.
- Basic knowledge of Japanese and Chinese cooking techniques is advantageous.
- Strong commitment to personal and workplace cleanliness.
- Willingness to be deployed to any of our operational locations across the region.
- Ability to work the scheduled shift of 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM, with flexibility for occasional overtime during special events.
- Good communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia; ability to follow instructions in a multilingual kitchen environment.
