Introduction
Sophos School Indonesia is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Homeroom Teacher (English Major) for our vibrant preschool program. Responsibilities
- Design and deliver daily lesson plans that align with Montessori principles and the school’s English language curriculum.
- Facilitate a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom atmosphere where each child feels valued and motivated to explore.
- Assess student progress through observations, portfolios, and informal assessments, providing timely feedback to parents and the school leadership team.
- Integrate Google Workspace for Education tools (Docs, Slides, Classroom) to create interactive learning materials and streamline communication.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, specialists, and administrators to develop interdisciplinary projects and school‑wide events.
- Maintain accurate attendance records, lesson logs, and classroom inventories in compliance with school policies.
- Participate in regular professional development workshops, staff meetings, and parent‑teacher conferences.
- Model positive behavior, conflict‑resolution strategies, and social‑emotional learning techniques for young learners.
- Ensure all health, safety, and hygiene standards are met, conducting regular classroom checks and emergency drills.
- Contribute ideas for curriculum enrichment, extracurricular activities, and community outreach programs.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Education, English, Early Childhood Development, Psychology, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of proven experience teaching preschool or kindergarten students, preferably within a Montessori setting.
- Fluent spoken and written English with the ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace for Education and standard office software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong interpersonal skills: responsible, creative, highly motivated, quick learner, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- Positive, mature personality with excellent communication abilities and adaptability to new challenges.
- Indonesian citizenship (no expatriate candidates considered).
