Introduction
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Instrumentation Engineer – Development & Operations to join our dynamic engineering team. This senior‑level position plays a pivotal role in designing, reviewing, and optimizing instrumentation and process control systems for complex industrial projects. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, manage project‑level manpower, and ensure the highest standards of safety and reliability are maintained throughout the project lifecycle. The role is based in Indonesia and follows a standard work week from Monday to Saturday, 08:00‑17:00.
Responsibilities
- Design, evaluate, and refine the most effective process‑control strategies aligned with project specifications and client requirements.
- Develop and review comprehensive instrumentation system architectures, ensuring compatibility with process control objectives and industry standards.
- Create and manage Management of Change (MOC) documentation for every modification, guaranteeing traceability and compliance with safety regulations.
- Prepare accurate project cost estimations, feasibility studies, and selection criteria to support informed decision‑making.
- Lead and coordinate manpower resources, including on‑site labor and subcontractors, to achieve project milestones on time and within budget.
- Continuously monitor and improve the performance of all instrumentation and process control equipment, implementing corrective actions and preventive maintenance plans.
- Act as the primary point of contact for urgent emergency calls related to instrumentation and process control, providing rapid troubleshooting and resolution.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to integrate instrumentation solutions seamlessly into overall plant design.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering knowledge transfer and professional growth within the department.
- Ensure all work complies with local and international standards such as IEC, ISA, and ISO‑9001.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of hands‑on experience in instrumentation and process control engineering, preferably in the oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy‑industry sectors.
- Strong understanding of construction processes and the ability to interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, and engineering specifications.
- Proven expertise in designing and reviewing process‑control strategies and instrumentation system layouts.
- Experience creating and managing MOC documentation in compliance with safety standards.
- Demonstrated ability to develop accurate project cost estimates and perform selection analyses.
- Leadership skills with experience in man‑management and labor coordination on a project basis.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities, especially under emergency conditions, with a track record of swift resolution.
- Effective communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English, both written and verbal.
