Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook authentic Javanese dishes, ensuring flavor consistency and presentation quality.
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including mise en place, ingredient preparation, and timely service during lunch and dinner shifts.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, grills, and food processors safely and efficiently.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and minimize waste through proper storage and portion control.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, conducting regular cleaning of workstations, utensils, and storage areas.
- Collaborate closely with the head chef and front‑of‑house staff to coordinate menu specials and respond to special dietary requests.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, continuous improvement, and respect.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, performing end‑of‑day sanitation duties as required.
- Utilize a motorbike for occasional ingredient runs, market trips, or urgent deliveries as needed.
- Stay updated on emerging culinary trends within Indonesian cuisine and suggest innovative menu enhancements.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent.
- Open to all genders, but the role is currently prioritized for female candidates.
- Age: 30 years or older.
- At least 0 years of professional cooking experience – we welcome enthusiastic newcomers with a passion for Javanese food.
- Ability to reside on‑site (mandatory accommodation) to ensure flexibility for early‑morning prep and late‑night service.
- Proficient in cooking traditional Javanese dishes, including *rawon*, *gudeg*, *sate ayam*, and *nasi pecel*.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motorbike safely for work‑related errands.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and basic maintenance.
