Introduction
Yayasan Konservasi Alam Nusantara (YKAN) is seeking a passionate and results‑driven Conservation Acquisition Representative (Fundraiser) to join our full‑time team in Surakarta. This role is at the frontline of our mission to raise public awareness and secure sustainable funding for critical nature conservation projects across Indonesia. The successful candidate will act as a persuasive communicator, engaging diverse audiences, and turning curiosity about the environment into concrete financial support.
Responsibilities
- Deliver clear, compelling presentations about YKAN’s conservation programs in public spaces, markets, schools, and community events.
- Identify, approach, and cultivate relationships with potential donors, corporate partners, and local businesses.
- Maintain a daily pipeline of prospects, track interactions in the CRM system, and follow up consistently to convert interest into recurring donations.
- Organize and host fundraising events, workshops, and awareness campaigns that align with YKAN’s ethical code and branding guidelines.
- Collaborate with the communications team to develop brochures, social media content, and on‑site signage that reinforce the fundraising message.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly fundraising targets while reporting progress to senior management.
- Stay informed about the latest trends in environmental philanthropy, ecotourism, and corporate social responsibility to propose innovative fundraising strategies.
- Represent YKAN professionally in all public interactions, adhering to ethical standards and fostering a positive image of the organization.
Requirements
- Minimum education: D3/D4 (associate or bachelor degree) in any discipline; studies related to environmental science, communication, or business are a plus.
- At least 1 year of proven experience in fundraising, sales, public relations, or community outreach.
- Strong verbal communication skills, comfortable speaking in front of large groups and adapting the message to different audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, meet targets, and handle rejection with resilience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; confident interacting with diverse groups, building trust quickly.
- Self‑motivated, goal‑oriented, and able to thrive in a shifting schedule (morning and evening shifts).
- Residency in Surakarta or surrounding areas is preferred to reduce travel time and increase local network reach.
