Introduction
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Sales General Trade & Modern Trade professional to join our growing team in Medan. This role focuses on expanding the distribution of our premium frozen food portfolio across traditional trade outlets and modern retail chains. The ideal candidate is a disciplined, honest, and results‑driven individual who thrives in a target‑oriented environment and possesses strong negotiation and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a sales plan for the Medan and surrounding area, targeting both general trade (traditional grocery stores, warungs, and kiosks) and modern trade (supermarkets, hypermarkets, and convenience chains).
- Identify, approach, and onboard new retail partners while nurturing existing relationships to increase shelf space and product visibility.
- Conduct regular store visits to monitor stock levels, ensure proper product placement, and gather market intelligence on competitor activities.
- Negotiate pricing, promotional agreements, and payment terms in line with company policies and profitability targets.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to execute in‑store promotions, sampling events, and merchandising initiatives that drive trial and repeat purchases.
- Prepare and submit accurate sales forecasts, activity reports, and performance analyses to senior management on a weekly basis.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets, adjusting tactics as needed to overcome obstacles and capitalize on market opportunities.
- Maintain a personal vehicle and a valid SIM C license to ensure timely coverage of the assigned territory.
- Adhere to all company compliance standards, including product safety, ethical selling practices, and reporting procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of proven sales experience, preferably in the frozen food sector.
- Male candidates only, as specified by the client’s operational policy.
- Active SIM C driving license and personal transportation.
- High level of integrity, discipline, and reliability.
- Energetic, proactive, and able to work independently under pressure.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of closing deals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Deep knowledge of Medan’s retail landscape and surrounding regions.
