Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated Professional Private Korean Tutor to join our growing language education team in Jember, East Java. This part‑time position offers the opportunity to share your expertise in Korean language and culture with students ranging from beginners to advanced learners. Whether teaching online or face‑to‑face, you will play a pivotal role in helping our learners achieve fluency, confidence, and cultural awareness.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging Korean language lessons that cover speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
- Assess students’ proficiency levels through diagnostic tests and tailor lesson plans to meet individual learning goals.
- Provide constructive feedback on pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary usage, fostering continuous improvement.
- Utilize multimedia resources, authentic Korean media, and interactive activities to create a dynamic classroom environment.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, lesson progress, and performance assessments.
- Communicate regularly with students and parents (or adult learners) regarding progress, upcoming topics, and any areas needing extra attention.
- Stay updated on the latest teaching methodologies, curriculum standards, and cultural trends related to Korea.
- Participate in occasional staff meetings, professional development workshops, and community outreach events.
- Offer optional supplemental tutoring sessions or exam preparation courses for proficiency tests such as TOPIK.
Requirements
- Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Korean Language, Korean Studies, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Preferably female candidates, as specified by the client’s demographic focus.
- Demonstrated fluency in spoken and written Korean; native‑level proficiency is a strong advantage.
- Experience living, studying, or working in a Korean‑speaking country is highly valued.
- Prior teaching or tutoring experience is a plus; fresh graduates with strong communication skills are also encouraged to apply.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to motivate learners of diverse ages and backgrounds.
- Proficiency with online teaching platforms (Zoom, Google Meet) and basic classroom technology.
- Willingness to conduct lessons both online and offline, with a preference for candidates residing in or near Jember, East Java.
- Availability to work Monday through Saturday, 08:00 – 17:00, with flexible scheduling to accommodate student needs.
