Introduction
We are seeking a diligent Staff Pharmacy Technician to join our veterinary clinic’s pharmacy team. This role is vital for ensuring that animal patients receive accurate, timely medication prepared according to veterinary prescriptions. The successful candidate will work closely with veterinarians, clinic staff, and suppliers to maintain seamless pharmacy operations, uphold stringent quality standards, and contribute to the overall health and wellbeing of the animals under our care.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and compound medications precisely according to veterinary prescriptions, ensuring dosage accuracy and compliance with aseptic techniques.
- Conduct daily and periodic stock‑taking (stock opname) for both the pharmacy and the clinic’s central warehouse, recording discrepancies and updating inventory systems.
- Place purchase orders, receive deliveries, and verify incoming stock against order documents and quality specifications.
- Coordinate with other clinic divisions to gather and fulfill medication or supply requests, guaranteeing that each department has the necessary resources to operate efficiently.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid stock‑outs or over‑stock situations, using forecasting tools and historical usage data.
- Operate basic computer applications for inventory management, order processing, and reporting.
- Adhere to all safety, hygiene, and regulatory guidelines governing the handling and storage of pharmaceutical products for animals.
- Provide courteous assistance to clinic staff and clients regarding medication usage, storage instructions, and potential side effects.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting process enhancements that increase accuracy, speed, and safety.
Requirements
- Education: Minimum SMA/SMK or equivalent; preferred qualification is SMK/DIII/S1 in Pharmacy or related field.
- Age: 20‑30 years old.
- Gender: Open to all genders.
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a pharmacy, preferably in a veterinary or animal‑health setting.
- Core Skills:
- Adaptability and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong multitasking capabilities to manage compounding, inventory, and administrative tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and inventory management software.
