Introduction
We are seeking an enthusiastic Retail Sales Cashier to join our dynamic team in the DIY (Do‑It‑Yourself) sector. This role is pivotal in delivering a seamless shopping experience for our customers, handling all point‑of‑sale transactions, and supporting store operations from Monday through Saturday. The ideal candidate will combine a solid educational background with a friendly, helpful attitude, ensuring that every customer leaves the store satisfied and confident in their purchases.
Responsibilities
- Operate the cash register and point‑of‑sale (POS) system efficiently, processing sales, returns, and exchanges with accuracy.
- Maintain a balanced cash drawer, perform end‑of‑day cash reconciliation, and report any discrepancies promptly.
- Assist customers in locating products, answering product‑related questions, and providing recommendations that align with their DIY projects.
- Handle multiple payment methods, including cash, credit/debit cards, mobile wallets, and store vouchers.
- Monitor inventory levels at the checkout area, restock promotional items, and coordinate with the inventory team to avoid stock‑outs.
- Ensure the checkout area remains clean, organized, and complies with safety and hygiene standards.
- Process and issue receipts, invoices, and warranty documentation as required.
- Collaborate with sales assistants, floor staff, and management to resolve customer issues swiftly and professionally.
- Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on product knowledge, POS system upgrades, and sales techniques.
- Contribute ideas for improving checkout efficiency and overall customer experience during team meetings.
Requirements
- Minimum education: High School (SMA/SMK); a Bachelor’s degree (S1) is highly preferred.
- Age: up to 35 years old (exceptions may apply for specialized positions such as PA & Cook).
- Residency: Must reside in Diy and surrounding areas to ensure reliable punctuality.
- Gender: Open to all genders.
- Prior experience: No minimum experience required, but experience with cash handling or retail sales is advantageous.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in operating POS and cash register systems; familiarity with basic computer applications.
- Soft skills: Cheerful demeanor, strong interpersonal communication, helpful attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure during peak hours.
- Availability: Able to work Monday through Saturday, 08:00 – 17:00.
