Introduction
PT. China Fine Steel Share & PT. Fine Steel Share, a leading supplier of steel and iron products in Indonesia, is seeking a highly skilled Mandarin Translator (Document Translation & Interpreting) to join its corporate team at the Landmark Tower, Pluit, North Jakarta. This full‑time, on‑site role supports senior management and the sales division by bridging language gaps with Chinese partners, ensuring that technical specifications, contracts, and business communications are accurately rendered in both Mandarin and Indonesian/English.
Responsibilities
- Translate a wide range of documents—including product catalogs, engineering drawings, procurement contracts, and safety manuals—between Mandarin, Indonesian, and English with precision and industry‑specific terminology.
- Provide consecutive and simultaneous interpretation during client meetings, supplier negotiations, and internal briefings, facilitating clear communication between Indonesian executives and Chinese stakeholders.
- Proofread and edit translated materials to maintain consistency, correct terminology, and compliance with corporate style guides.
- Maintain and update a translation memory database and glossary of steel‑industry terms to improve efficiency and reduce turnaround time.
- Assist the Executive Assistant team by preparing bilingual correspondence, meeting agendas, minutes, and presentation decks (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- Coordinate with the sales, engineering, and procurement departments to ensure that all technical information is accurately conveyed to Chinese partners.
- Support cross‑cultural training sessions, helping Indonesian staff understand Chinese business etiquette and vice‑versa.
- Handle confidential documents with the utmost discretion, adhering to the company’s data‑security policies.
- Participate in on‑site visits to production facilities when language support is required for inspections or quality audits.
- Proactively identify translation bottlenecks and propose workflow improvements to senior management.
Requirements
- Minimum education: S1 (Bachelor’s degree) in Mandarin Language, Translation, or a related field; diplomas (D3) or high school (SMA/K) with relevant coursework are also considered.
- HSK Level 5 certification is a strong advantage.
- At least 1 year of experience in an executive‑assistant, administrative, or translation role within a corporate or manufacturing environment.
- Fluent oral and written proficiency in Mandarin, Indonesian, and English.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts across cultures.
- Professional demeanor, strong interpersonal skills, and a proven record of maintaining confidentiality.
- Proactive problem‑solver who can work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with translation‑software tools.
- Immediate availability and willingness to work on‑site at Landmark Pluit Tower.
- Availability to work Monday – Saturday (08:30 – 17:30 WIB, with a shorter Saturday shift 09:00 – 13:00).
