Introduction
We are seeking a motivated Assistant Officer for Safety, Social, and Welfare to join our dynamic team at a leading plantation operation. This role is pivotal in ensuring a safe work environment, fostering employee well‑being, and supporting corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives that benefit both our workforce and the surrounding community. The successful candidate will be stationed on‑site, collaborating closely with internal departments, external partners, and local stakeholders to drive a culture of safety, health, and social responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Implement and supervise the K3 (occupational health and safety) program across the plantation area, ensuring all activities comply with SMK3 and HSE regulations.
- Conduct routine safety inspections, hazard identifications, and risk assessments, promptly addressing any non‑conformities.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety performance, incident investigations, and social‑welfare metrics for senior management.
- Coordinate with internal teams (HR, Operations, Maintenance) and external agencies (government inspectors, NGOs) to align social and welfare programs with corporate objectives.
- Lead incident response efforts, including immediate containment, root‑cause analysis, and the development of corrective action plans.
- Support CSR projects such as community health outreach, environmental stewardship, and employee assistance programs.
- Facilitate training sessions on occupational safety, emergency procedures, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain accurate records of safety equipment, certifications, and compliance documentation.
- Promote a proactive safety culture by encouraging employee participation in safety committees and suggestion schemes.
- Assist in the development of welfare initiatives, including health screenings, counseling services, and recreational activities for staff.
Requirements
- Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety (K3), Public Health, Environmental Engineering, or a related field; high school diploma is the minimum for entry‑level consideration.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in Safety/K3, HSE, or CSR; experience in plantation or agribusiness environments is a strong advantage.
- Thorough knowledge of SMK3, HSE standards, and Indonesian labor safety regulations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and external partners.
- Willingness to work on‑site in a plantation setting, with flexible availability for Monday‑Saturday schedules (08:00‑17:00).
- Demonstrated leadership qualities, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong sense of responsibility.
