Introduction
We are seeking a skilled Juru Gambar Teknik (Drafter) to join our dynamic engineering team. This position focuses on creating precise technical drawings and 3‑D models for projects that involve sheet metal and plate fabrication. As a Drafter, you will collaborate closely with engineers, product designers, and manufacturing specialists to ensure that every drawing adheres to project specifications, industry standards, and best‑practice design principles. Responsibilities
- Produce accurate 2‑D technical drawings, 3‑D models, and work‑shop drawings for sheet‑metal components using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, and Fusion 360.
- Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and design intent to create detailed manufacturing documentation.
- Maintain and update the project’s technical library, ensuring that all revisions are clearly logged and archived.
- Collaborate with the mechanical engineering and product development teams to validate design feasibility and identify potential production issues early in the design phase.
- Apply industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASTM) and company‑specific drawing conventions to guarantee consistency across all deliverables.
- Participate in design review meetings, presenting drawings and receiving feedback from senior engineers and project managers.
- Assist in the creation of Bill of Materials (BOM) and provide dimensional data required for cost estimation and tooling design.
- Support prototyping activities by delivering quick turnaround drawings for custom fixtures, jigs, and test assemblies.
- Continuously improve drafting processes by adopting new CAD features, plugins, and best practices.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent; technical diplomas in mechanical drafting or related fields are a plus.
- At least 1 year of professional experience as a drafter, preferably with a focus on sheet‑metal furniture or industrial components.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, and/or Fusion 360; familiarity with additional CAD platforms (SolidWorks, CATIA) is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of sheet‑metal design principles, bend allowances, tolerances, and manufacturing processes such as laser cutting, punching, and welding.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical standards.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively coordinate with cross‑functional teams.
- Detail‑oriented mindset with a strong focus on accuracy and quality assurance.
- Problem‑solving attitude, capable of proposing design improvements that reduce cost or simplify fabrication.
