Introduction
SPX Express, a leading provider of express logistics and supply‑chain solutions in Indonesia, is seeking a dynamic and results‑driven professional to join our team as a Shift Lead – Sortation at our modern Sortation Center (SOC) located in Banyumas, Jawa Tengah. This pivotal role ensures the seamless flow of packages through inbound, sorting, bagging, reprocessing, and outbound operations, supporting the company’s commitment to fast, reliable delivery for both B2B and B2C customers.
The successful candidate will work a full‑time schedule from Monday to Saturday, 09:30 – 18:30, and will be expected to lead a diverse team of operators, forklift drivers, and support staff while maintaining strict adherence to SOPs, safety standards, and the 5S workplace organization methodology.
Responsibilities
- Monitor daily operations of the Sortation Center, overseeing inbound receiving, automated sortation, bagging, re‑processing, and outbound dispatch activities.
- Ensure all functions comply with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality benchmarks, taking corrective action when deviations occur.
- Develop and adjust manpower plans based on fluctuating daily volumes, peak periods, and seasonal demand spikes.
- Track team productivity, equipment utilization, and throughput metrics; generate reports that highlight performance trends and improvement opportunities.
- Conduct regular shift briefings to communicate key performance indicators, safety alerts, and 5S implementation updates.
- Collaborate with maintenance, IT, and warehouse management to resolve equipment downtime and system integration issues quickly.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting process redesigns that increase efficiency, reduce errors, and lower operational costs.
- Coach and mentor supervisors and frontline staff, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high morale.
- Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing personal protective equipment (PPE) usage and conducting routine safety audits.
- Prepare shift hand‑over documentation to ensure smooth transitions between teams and maintain operational continuity.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK, Diploma, or Bachelor’s degree in any field.
- At least 2 years of logistics experience, with a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or warehouse‑lead role.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia (both verbal and written) and basic English is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of logistics management, inventory control, and warehouse safety practices.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts and willingness to be based in Banyumas, Jawa Tengah.
- Familiarity with 5S principles, KPI tracking, and basic data analysis tools.
