Responsibilities
The Barista role is central to the daily operations of our cafés. Successful candidates will be expected to perform a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages—espresso, cappuccino, latte, pour‑over, cold brew, and specialty drinks—according to standardized recipes and quality guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work station, ensuring all equipment (espresso machines, grinders, brewers) is regularly cleaned and calibrated.
- Provide attentive, courteous, and knowledgeable service to each guest, answering questions about menu items, coffee origins, and brewing methods.
- Handle cash and electronic transactions accurately, process orders through the point‑of‑sale system, and reconcile registers at the end of each shift.
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies; report shortages and assist with restocking.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including setting up displays, preparing pastries, and securing the premises.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a smooth workflow during peak hours, especially the morning shift when customer traffic is highest.
- Continuously develop barista skills through in‑house training, attending coffee tastings, and staying current with industry trends.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria and demonstrate a genuine passion for coffee culture:
- Minimum education: High School Diploma (SMA/SMK) or equivalent; candidates who are currently enrolled in college are also welcome.
- Age: No upper age limit; we value experience and dedication over numerical age.
- Gender: Open to all genders; diversity and inclusion are core to our workplace.
- Prior barista experience is not mandatory; however, a willingness to learn and a strong work ethic are essential.
- Excellent personal presentation and a friendly demeanor that reflects the brand’s image.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with customers in a respectful, helpful manner.
- Basic math proficiency for cash handling and inventory tracking.
- Flexibility to work mornings, with a preference for candidates who can cover the early shift (08:00 – 17:00, Monday‑Saturday).
- Team‑player attitude, reliability, and punctuality.
- Passion for coffee, a curiosity about brewing techniques, and an eagerness to develop barista expertise.
