Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a wide range of coffee beverages, including espresso‑based drinks, pour‑over, French press, and cold brew, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
- Maintain mastery of manual brewing techniques, adjusting grind size, water temperature, and extraction time to achieve optimal flavor profiles for each bean.
- Engage with customers, offering personalized recommendations, educating them about coffee origins, flavor notes, and brewing methods.
- Manage inventory of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and ancillary supplies; conduct daily stock checks and communicate reorder needs to the manager.
- Uphold strict sanitation and safety protocols, including regular equipment cleaning, proper storage of perishable items, and adherence to health regulations.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and service teams to coordinate order flow, ensuring timely delivery of beverages during peak hours.
- Assist in the development of seasonal menu items, contributing ideas for new drinks, specialty roasts, and promotional offers.
- Handle cash transactions, process digital payments, and maintain accurate daily sales records.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions, coffee tastings, and barista competitions to continuously improve skill set.
- Provide feedback on equipment performance and suggest improvements or upgrades to enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Minimum education: High School Diploma (SMA/SMK) or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of proven experience working as a barista in a busy café or specialty coffee shop.
- Demonstrated expertise in manual brewing methods and a solid understanding of coffee fundamentals.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact courteously with guests of all ages and backgrounds.
- Flexibility to work Monday through Saturday, with shifts from 08:00 to 17:00.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 kg when handling coffee bags and equipment.
