Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present a wide variety of dishes for the university cafeteria, event banquets, and special dietary programs.
- Plan daily and weekly menus in collaboration with the head chef, ensuring balanced nutrition and adherence to halal guidelines where required.
- Manage inventory of raw ingredients, conduct regular stock checks, and coordinate with suppliers to guarantee freshness and cost‑effectiveness.
- Maintain strict compliance with food safety regulations, including proper storage, temperature control, and sanitation procedures.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative atmosphere and encouraging continuous skill development.
- Assist in the setup and execution of campus events, such as conferences, graduation ceremonies, and cultural festivals, providing on‑site culinary support.
- Monitor kitchen equipment, report any malfunctions, and assist in routine maintenance to ensure optimal operation.
- Respond promptly to customer feedback, adjusting recipes or service approaches to improve satisfaction.
- Work closely with the nutrition department to develop meals that meet specific health and dietary requirements, including vegetarian, low‑sodium, and allergen‑free options.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of proven experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a large institutional setting.
- Excellent communication skills; able to convey instructions clearly to team members and interact politely with patrons.
- Honesty, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a cohesive team.
- Capability to perform efficiently under high‑pressure situations and meet tight service deadlines.
- Proficiency in basic culinary techniques and a solid understanding of food hygiene standards.
- Flexibility to work Monday through Saturday, 08:00 – 17:00, with occasional overtime for special events.
