Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated Guru Pendamping (Shadow Teacher) to join our supportive school community. This role is vital for fostering an inclusive learning environment where every student—especially those who require additional assistance—can thrive academically and socially. The successful candidate will work closely with classroom teachers, providing one‑on‑one guidance, adapting instructional materials, and ensuring that each child receives the personalized attention they need to succeed.
Responsibilities
- Assist the primary classroom teacher by providing individualized support to students with learning difficulties, behavioral challenges, or special educational needs.
- Develop and modify teaching resources, lesson plans, and visual aids to match each student’s learning style.
- Monitor student progress through observation, note‑taking, and informal assessments, then communicate findings to the teacher and parents.
- Facilitate small‑group activities and classroom tasks, encouraging peer interaction and cooperative learning.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and nurturing classroom atmosphere, reinforcing school policies and positive behavior standards.
- Collaborate with school counselors, speech therapists, and other specialists to implement individualized education programs (IEPs).
- Provide constructive feedback to students, helping them develop study strategies, organizational skills, and self‑confidence.
- Attend regular staff meetings, professional development workshops, and training sessions related to inclusive education.
- Assist with classroom management duties such as preparing materials, setting up learning stations, and supervising students during recess and lunch periods.
- Document daily activities, incidents, and student achievements in accordance with school reporting procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum education: Diploma (D1) or Bachelor’s degree (S1) in any field; candidates pursuing higher education are welcome provided class schedules do not conflict with work hours.
- Age range: 18 – 35 years.
- Gender: Open to all genders.
- Religion: Must be Muslim, respecting the school’s cultural environment.
- Strong sense of discipline, punctuality, and reliability.
- Passion for working with children, empathy, and the ability to build trust quickly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and support staff.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and continuously improve teaching techniques.
- Basic analytical skills to assess student performance and suggest appropriate interventions.
- Flexible schedule: Monday to Saturday, 07:00 – 16:00. Candidates who are currently studying may apply as long as academic commitments do not overlap.
