Responsibilities
- Oversee the day‑to‑day flow of kitchen operations, ensuring all stations are prepared and stocked before service begins.
- Manage inventory levels of raw ingredients, supplies, and kitchen equipment, conducting regular audits to minimize waste.
- Coordinate with chefs, line cooks, and service staff to prioritize orders and adjust workflow during peak periods.
- Maintain and troubleshoot kitchen appliances, ensuring all equipment is cleaned, serviced, and compliant with safety regulations.
- Implement and enforce food safety and sanitation protocols in accordance with local health department standards.
- Train new and existing kitchen personnel on proper handling of tools, equipment operation, and best‑practice hygiene procedures.
- Monitor kitchen performance metrics, such as order turnaround time and waste percentages, and propose process improvements.
- Act as a liaison between the kitchen and front‑of‑house teams, communicating any special dietary requests or service changes.
- Respond quickly and effectively to unexpected challenges, such as equipment breakdowns or sudden staffing shortages, while maintaining composure under pressure.
Requirements
- Minimum education: High school diploma, SMA/SMK, or equivalent.
