This full‑time role focuses on preparing high‑quality Chinese‑style home meals, maintaining a spotless kitchen environment, and managing the procurement of fresh ingredients. The ideal candidate is a trustworthy, detail‑oriented woman aged 25‑45 who can bring culinary creativity and disciplined kitchen management to the family’s daily dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Daily Cooking: Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the family, specializing in Chinese home cuisine such as stir‑fried vegetables, soups, chicken, seafood, and other traditional dishes. Ensure each plate is flavorful, nutritionally balanced, and presented neatly.
- Menu Development: Design weekly menus that incorporate seasonal produce, respect family preferences, and introduce occasional international or vegetarian options to keep meals varied and exciting.
- Ingredient Preparation: Chop, marinate, and pre‑portion all ingredients before cooking, guaranteeing efficiency and consistency throughout the day.
- Kitchen Management: Clean the kitchen after each use, wash and organize all cookware and utensils, and maintain a hygienic, clutter‑free workspace at all times.
- Refrigerator & Storage Organization: Regularly inventory and arrange pantry and refrigerator items, discard expired products, and label new supplies for easy identification.
- Procurement & Budget Handling: Create detailed shopping lists, purchase fresh produce and pantry staples according to family guidelines, manage the allocated budget honestly, and provide simple expense reports.
- Workspace Upkeep: Keep the kitchen area and adjacent first‑floor space tidy, sweeping and mopping floors, and ensuring all surfaces are spotless.
- Kitchen‑Related Laundry: Wash and dry kitchen cloths, sponges, and towels regularly, storing them in a clean, ready‑to‑use condition.
- Quality Assurance: Verify that meals are served at appropriate temperatures, taste tests are conducted, and all food safety standards are adhered to.
- Communication: Coordinate with family members regarding dietary restrictions, special occasions, and any changes in menu preferences.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMP/MTS or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience as a household or private chef, preferably with a focus on Chinese cuisine.
- Strong knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques and familiarity with Japanese, international, traditional, and vegetarian dishes.
- Excellent organizational skills for inventory control, kitchen layout, and time management.
- High standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and personal presentation.
- Honesty, reliability, and the ability to handle cash for grocery purchases responsibly.
- Residence in or near Medan Tuntungan is highly preferred.
- Female candidates aged 25‑45 years.
- Ability to work Monday‑Saturday, 07:00 – 17:00.
