Introduction
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Helper Dapur (Casual) to join our dynamic kitchen team in Semarang. This position is ideal for individuals who are eager to contribute to a fast‑paced food service environment while developing practical culinary skills. As a key support member, you will work closely with chefs, kitchen staff, and service personnel to ensure that daily operations run smoothly and that our guests receive high‑quality meals in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Assist chefs and line cooks with basic food preparation tasks such as washing, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen workstations, equipment, and storage areas in accordance with food safety standards.
- Support the timely set‑up and breakdown of the kitchen for each shift, including organizing utensils, cookware, and service stations.
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, notify supervisors of shortages, and help with stock rotation to minimize waste.
- Execute simple cooking duties under supervision, such as boiling, grilling, or assembling pre‑prepared dishes.
- Collaborate effectively with both team members and individual tasks, adapting to changing priorities during peak service periods.
- Handle pressure situations calmly, ensuring that orders are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Follow all health, safety, and hygiene protocols, including proper handwashing, use of personal protective equipment, and safe handling of knives and hot equipment.
- Provide courteous assistance to front‑of‑house staff when needed, such as delivering plates or clearing stations.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent.
- Open to candidates of any gender; both male and female applicants are welcome.
- Age limit: up to 35 years old, with a preference for candidates who demonstrate maturity and reliability.
- At least 0‑2 years of experience in a kitchen or food‑service environment; prior exposure to basic food preparation is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia; basic English is a plus.
- Honesty, responsibility, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Capability to perform under pressure during busy service periods.
- Proficiency in basic food‑and‑beverage service techniques, including plating, garnishing, and portion control.
- Flexibility to work Monday through Saturday, from 08:00 to 17:00, with occasional overtime as required.
