Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated Fiber Optic Installation Technician to join our team in Purwakarta. This role is crucial for delivering high‑quality FTTH (Fiber‑to‑the‑Home) and ISP services to our expanding customer base. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, activating, and maintaining fiber optic networks, ensuring that customers experience reliable and fast internet connectivity. Responsibilities
- Perform on‑site installation and activation of fiber optic services for residential and business customers.
- Provide remote and on‑site technical support, troubleshooting connectivity issues and configuring network equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve faults in fiber optic cables, splice points, and optical network terminals (ONTs).
- Collaborate with the network operations center to ensure seamless service handovers and proper documentation of work orders.
- Educate customers on proper usage, maintenance, and safety practices related to fiber optic equipment.
- Maintain accurate logs of installations, service calls, and inventory of tools and materials.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including proper handling of fiber strands, personal protective equipment, and site access regulations.
- Assist in the planning and execution of large‑scale deployment projects, supporting senior engineers as needed.
- Continuously update technical knowledge through training on emerging fiber technologies and industry standards.
Requirements
- Male applicant, maximum age of 35 years.
- Minimum education: SMK in Computer Networking, Telecommunications, or related field; or a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or Telecommunications with a minimum GPA of 3.00 (or an equivalent score of 85% for diploma holders).
- At least 1 year of hands‑on experience in fiber optic installation, FTTH, or ISP services.
- Valid SIM A (driver’s license) preferred for travel to customer locations.
- Strong technical skills: familiarity with fiber optic splicing, testing equipment (OTDR, power meter), and network troubleshooting tools.
- Excellent communication abilities to explain technical concepts clearly to non‑technical customers.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on safety, precision, and quality of service.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including potential overtime during peak deployment periods.
