Introduction

We are seeking a motivated Assistant Chef (Asisten Koki) to join our dynamic kitchen team and provide essential operational support in a fast‑paced culinary environment. This entry‑level position is perfect for individuals who have completed a high school diploma or equivalent and are eager to develop their cooking skills while contributing to the smooth functioning of a busy restaurant. The role offers a structured work schedule from Monday to Saturday, 08:00 – 17:00, and provides a solid foundation for a rewarding career in the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef and Sous‑Chef in daily food preparation, ensuring all ingredients are measured, trimmed, and ready for cooking.
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen.
  • Support inventory management by receiving deliveries, checking stock levels, and organizing storage areas to minimize waste.
  • Prepare basic sauces, soups, dressings, and side dishes according to standardized recipes.
  • Monitor cooking times and temperatures, providing timely assistance during peak service periods.
  • Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, and kitchen utensils at the end of each shift.
  • Assist in plating and garnishing dishes to meet the restaurant’s presentation standards.
  • Participate in routine kitchen meetings, offering suggestions for menu improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Help train new kitchen staff on basic techniques and safety protocols as needed.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team atmosphere by communicating effectively with front‑of‑house staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum education: High School Diploma (SMA/SMK) or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience or formal training in culinary arts is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Basic cooking skills and a genuine passion for food preparation.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, standing for long periods and lifting up to 20 kg.
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to take direction from senior kitchen staff.
  • Flexibility to work six days a week (Monday‑Saturday) with a consistent schedule of 08:00 – 17:00.
