Introduction
We are seeking an experienced Foreman Scaffolder – Construction Site Lead to join our dynamic team on the bustling projects in Batam, Riau Island. This pivotal role combines hands‑on scaffolding expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring that all temporary access structures are erected, inspected, and dismantled safely and efficiently. As a foreman, you will act as the primary point of contact between site supervisors, scaffolding crews, and subcontractors, guaranteeing that work progresses on schedule while adhering to the highest safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise the complete scaffolding cycle—from layout and erection to inspection, maintenance, and dismantling—across multiple construction sites.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and project specifications to determine appropriate scaffold configurations and load capacities.
- Conduct daily safety briefings, risk assessments, and toolbox talks to reinforce compliance with OSHA, local regulations, and company safety policies.
- Inspect all scaffold components for wear, damage, or defects before use, and document findings in daily logs.
- Allocate tasks and resources efficiently, managing a crew of scaffolders, laborers, and apprentices while monitoring productivity.
- Collaborate with site engineers, project managers, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues and adjust scaffold plans as construction progresses.
- Maintain accurate records of material inventory, equipment usage, and labor hours for cost tracking and reporting.
- Provide on‑the‑job training and mentorship to junior scaffolders, fostering a culture of continuous learning and skill development.
- Ensure all scaffolding activities are completed within the established work schedule (Monday‑Saturday, 08:00‑17:00) and meet quality expectations.
- Respond promptly to any emergency situations, coordinating with safety officers and medical personnel as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent.
- Relevant experience as a scaffolding foreman or lead, with a strong track record of managing crews on large‑scale construction projects.
- Current certification in scaffolding (e.g., Scaffolding Safety Certificate, OSHA 10‑Hour Construction).
- Proven knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and best practices in scaffold design and erection.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and load calculations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; capable of directing diverse teams and liaising with project stakeholders.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and the capacity to make quick, informed decisions under pressure.
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks, climb, and work at height safely.
- Availability to join immediately and preferably residing in Batam, Riau Island.
