Responsibilities
- Operate the point‑of‑sale (POS) system, scan items, process cash, credit, debit, and digital payments with precision.
- Verify the authenticity of banknotes and coins, and manage the cash drawer to minimize discrepancies.
- Reconcile daily sales reports, prepare cash‑up sheets, and report any irregularities to the store manager.
- Assist customers with product inquiries, price checks, and promotions, providing courteous and knowledgeable service.
- Handle returns, exchanges, and refunds according to company policy while ensuring proper documentation.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring all equipment is functional and stocked with necessary supplies (e.g., receipt paper, bags).
- Support inventory management by flagging low‑stock items, conducting periodic shelf checks, and assisting with stock replenishment during off‑peak hours.
- Collaborate with fellow team members to manage peak‑hour traffic, reduce queue times, and uphold a pleasant shopping atmosphere.
- Participate in regular training sessions on new payment technologies, customer service techniques, and safety protocols.
- Be willing to work overtime, weekends, and public holidays as required to meet the store’s operational needs.
Requirements
- Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent; preferably a background in accounting or office administration.
- At least 1 year of proven experience as a cashier in a retail or supermarket setting.
- Proficiency with modern POS hardware and digital payment platforms (e‑wallets, QR‑code systems, contactless cards).
- Strong communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia; ability to interact politely with customers of various backgrounds.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and a reputation for honesty and integrity.
- Neat personal appearance and adherence to the company’s dress code.
- Flexibility to work Monday‑Saturday, 08:00‑17:00, with occasional overtime.
- Must be a Muslim male or female, aligning with the store’s cultural and ethical standards.
