Introduction

TORCH, a leading retail brand in Yogyakarta, is seeking a dedicated Shopkeeper to join our dynamic team. This full‑time position is based at our flagship store in the vibrant district of Yogyakarta, offering a unique opportunity to manage day‑to‑day operations, engage with customers, and drive store performance. Responsibilities

  • Lead the store team by setting clear performance goals, providing coaching, and ensuring high levels of employee engagement.
  • Maintain a tidy, safe, and compliant store environment in accordance with local health and safety regulations.
  • Plan and execute store layout and product displays to maximize visual appeal and encourage impulse purchases.
  • Accurately record daily sales, reconcile cash registers, and generate end‑of‑day reports.
  • Oversee inventory tasks including stock returns, unpacking, labeling, pricing, and shelf replenishment.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for discrepancies, damages, or missing items and coordinate resolution with suppliers.
  • Document and report damaged or expired merchandise for timely replacement or disposal.
  • Conduct regular stock audits, identify slow‑moving items, and recommend markdowns or promotions.
  • Coordinate the movement of equipment and merchandise within the store, ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Prepare comprehensive monthly performance reports covering sales, inventory turnover, and staff productivity.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation for purchase orders, vendor communications, and inventory adjustments.
  • Utilize the store’s point‑of‑sale (POS) system and inventory management software efficiently.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries, handling complaints, and fostering loyalty.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, new product lines, and competitor activities to keep the store competitive.

Requirements

  • Minimum education: SMA/SMK or equivalent.
  • Age: 27 years old or younger.
  • Gender: Open to all genders.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience, preferably as a Store Leader or in a banking environment where attention to detail and customer service are paramount.
  • Strong communication etiquette and the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.
  • Proven operational management skills in a retail setting, including inventory control and visual merchandising.
  • Ability to optimize stock levels, reduce shrinkage, and improve turnover rates.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Problem‑solving mindset, capable of handling unexpected issues such as delivery discrepancies or equipment failures.
  • Proficiency with retail POS systems and basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, inventory software).
  • Flexibility to work the scheduled hours of 08:00 – 17:00, with potential for occasional weekend or holiday shifts as needed.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for delivering a superior shopping experience.
