Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated English Teacher (Half‑Time) to join our dynamic language centre. Responsibilities
- Deliver up to 40 academic hours (approximately 24 contact hours) per week, adhering to the centre’s timetable and curriculum.
- Prepare detailed lesson plans and gather teaching materials in advance, ensuring each class runs smoothly and on time.
- Implement the centre’s approved course materials, while creatively supplementing content to meet diverse learner needs.
- Conduct regular assessments, quizzes, and mock examinations, and record results according to established procedures.
- Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, progress reports, and certification documentation.
- Facilitate demonstration lessons, conversation clubs, and extracurricular language activities that enhance speaking confidence.
- Participate in placement testing and interview sessions for new enrolments, providing clear feedback to prospective students.
- Assist the Director of Studies with administrative tasks, project work, and the preparation of marketing or social events.
- Ensure all teaching equipment and classroom resources are well‑maintained and ready for use.
- Stay current with modern English‑language teaching methodologies, incorporating technology‑enhanced learning where appropriate.
- Provide constructive feedback to students, fostering a supportive environment that encourages continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree (S1) from a recognized university.
- At least one year of proven experience teaching English, either in‑person or online.
- Excellent command of English—both spoken and written—with a TOEFL score of ≥550 or IELTS overall band of ≥6.5 (optional but preferred).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
- Flexibility to work split shifts (morning and evening) and adapt to both centre‑based and off‑site teaching environments.
- Commitment to a minimum one‑year contract, demonstrating reliability and long‑term dedication.
- Proficiency with digital teaching tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Classroom, LMS platforms) and basic computer literacy.
- Ability to design and adapt lesson materials to suit varied proficiency levels and learning styles.
