Introduction
We are seeking a dedicated Teknisi Instalasi Fiber Optik to join our dynamic team in Pontianak. This role is pivotal in delivering high‑quality fiber‑to‑the‑home (FTTH) services to our growing customer base. The successful candidate will combine technical expertise with strong communication skills to ensure seamless installation, activation, and ongoing support of our fiber optic network.
As a key member of our field operations, you will work closely with network engineers, customer service representatives, and project managers to maintain the reliability and performance of our telecommunications infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Perform on‑site installation and activation of fiber optic services for residential and business customers.
- Provide remote and in‑person technical support, troubleshooting connectivity issues and guiding customers through problem resolution.
- Configure and test optical network terminals (ONT), splitters, and related equipment to ensure optimal signal quality.
- Document all service activities accurately in the company’s CRM system, including work orders, service reports, and customer feedback.
- Collaborate with the network operations center to coordinate maintenance windows and emergency repairs.
- Educate customers on proper usage of the fiber service, explaining technical concepts in clear, non‑technical language.
- Identify opportunities for upselling additional services such as Wi‑Fi routers, security solutions, or premium bandwidth packages.
- Adhere to safety standards and company policies, ensuring all installations comply with local regulations and industry best practices.
- Participate in continuous training programs to stay current with emerging fiber technologies and industry trends.
Requirements
- Male candidate, maximum age 35 years.
- Minimum education: SMK in Computer Network Engineering or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related field with a minimum GPA of 3.00 (or 85% for diploma holders).
- At least 1 year of hands‑on experience in fiber optic installation, FTTH projects, or ISP telecommunications.
- Strong technical knowledge of fiber optic principles, splicing, testing equipment (OTDR, power meter), and network protocols.
- Proficiency in database security, network security, and basic telephone installation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining technical issues to non‑technical customers.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple service calls per day.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the Pontianak region.
